FlyGuys, a nationwide reality data capture tech startup, unveiled their new headquarters in downtown Lafayette at a ribbon cutting ceremony today. The move comes as the next step in their expansion, continuing a wave of momentum for the company following a $10 Million Series A round of funding that came late in 2023.
The company, previously housed in two separate locations, split between the Opportunity Machine and an office on Clinton St., is now headquartered centrally in a 13,000 square foot space at 221 Jefferson St., which will serve as a hub for creativity and collaboration, enabling the team to expand its services and its mission to deliver quality reality data across various industries of data seekers.
With this move, they join the ranks of several other successful tech startups that have graduated from the Opportunity Machine, Acadiana’s startup support organization. Other graduates of the Opportunity Machine include well-known companies like Waitr, Rader Solutions, and more.
“FlyGuys’ expansion to a new, centralized location in downtown Lafayette highlights our ecosystem’s capacity to nurture and support innovative and thriving startups,” says Destin Ortego, Executive Director at Opportunity Machine.
Along with their new headquarters, FlyGuys also unveiled a fresh look for their brand. The rebranding introduces a new logo and color scheme, symbolizing the company’s edgy, service-minded, and quality-driven approach. This fresh visual identity aligns with FlyGuys’ commitment to innovation and excellence in providing quality data nationwide.
“The refresh of our brand represents a visual identity that encapsulates our forward-thinking spirit and the boundless opportunities that lie ahead,” says Whitney Savoie, VP of Marketing for FlyGuys.
FlyGuys is also on the cusp of launching an online marketplace platform in the coming weeks, which will revolutionize the efficiency with which data seekers are connected with data providers.
“Our move into the new headquarters and our brand refresh signify a transformative era for FlyGuys, marking a strategic evolution that aligns with our vision for scalable growth and innovation,” says Joe Stough, CEO of FlyGuys. “This pivotal step is not just about expanding our physical space and developing an online marketplace; it’s about embracing the dynamic culture of downtown Lafayette and integrating into its inspiring community.”
“This is an exciting time for FlyGuys as it launches its new facility in Lafayette, its new branding, and its new platform in preparation for future growth,” said J.P. Lynch, Vice President at Advantage Capital. “Since our initial investment, FlyGuys has continued to be at the forefront of reality data capture. Growing innovative companies like FlyGuys have a catalyzing effect on the local economy, and it’s great to see the company moving forward, deepening its ties to the community.”
A new headquarters and a fresh brand aren’t the only new things in store for the company this year. The FlyGuys team has grown exponentially over the past year and is projecting another 15 hires this year if their growth rate continues its trajectory.
Mandi Mitchell, President and CEO of Lafayette Economic Development Authority commented, “FlyGuys’ success and expansion exemplify the strong entrepreneurial landscape in Acadiana. LEDA and OM will continue supporting entrepreneurs and startups to further our economic development goals of creating jobs, increasing capital investments, and diversifying the local economy. The innovative mindset of OM members will continue to enrich Lafayette’s creative culture—sparking inspiration among entrepreneurs and visionaries throughout the area.”
